Risen Savior is a community and family focused church belonging to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Our worship is blended, led by a pastor and contemporary praise team through a classic Lutheran service. We invite our members to grow closer together and to Christ through small group ministry (Connect Groups).
Every Sunday we worship at 8am and 10:30am with a Bible Study hour in between at 9:15. There are offerings for every age to learn more about Jesus and the impact God’s Word and our faith has in our lives.
Risen Savior began when the Kansas District called Rev. Tom Harmon in 1993 to plant a new congregation in Wichita’s Northeast side. They began with a small group of families meeting in a storefront on 21st St while the first church building was constructed.
In November of 1994 Risen Savior was chartered as a congregation of the LCMS and officially called Pastor Harmon as their first pastor. The building was completed and dedicated in 1996 and expanded in 2001 and 2018.
Pastor Tom and his wife Arleata served the church through its first 30 years with tremendous selfless dedication to the Lord and His people before retiring in August 2023.
Risen Savior is organized to be led by our people. Through our history we have been blessed by many faithful servants with many talents. Members serve through boards that meet individually and together in a church council.
Our dedicated church staff serves the day-to-day responsibilities of helping our people carry out the mission of the church.
